Le Vian Chocolate diamonds : Diamonds of a different cut
Spurred on by what he saw as a key feature lacking in the jewelry industry, Eddie Le Vian
decided to do something about it. And that something was the Chocolate diamond Launched in 2000, Chocolate Diamonds were crafted with the purpose of highlighting the unique and the different in women as reflected in their choice of jewelry. ‘Women want to be unique and different and they want their jewelry to be unique and different'
Not to be mistaken for generic brown diamonds, the Chocolate Diamond is an exclusive creation from the ateliers of Le Vian to elicit the same fanatic reaction as actual chocolate does with its most ardent faithfuls. If chocolate could have such a strong following, the thinking is, why not a diamond? Sourced from the Argyle mines in Australia which are equally famous for their reserves of white and pink diamonds, the Chocolate Diamond goes through a stringent processing regimen to make sure it meets the high standard that Le Vian have set. There can be no shortcuts like enhancement and fillings; de rigeur for dodgy firms who want to sidestep the rather painstaking process of sourcing the diamonds naturally, a process made even more strenuous due to the limited abundance of brown diamonds which are even rarer than their white counterparts. Afterwards the diamonds have to be graded to ascertain they are of a certain quality, a certain grading and of course the cut has to be taken into consideration before said diamond can be truly called a Chocolate diamond.
Not just satisfied with creating a different product, Le Vian has also saddled itself with running a different kind of business hinged on the hallmarks of integrity and innovation. They take a lot of pride in the quality of jewelry that they produce and leave no stone unturned in making sure that they are the standard bearers in the jewelry industry. They would rather go the painstaking route than produce a subpar product as evident in their stringent judging process. They enlist known members of the Jewel council to review the level of quality of their diamonds and other 3rd party materials before submitting them to supply chains for review. They also make sure that they employ good working conditions that adhere to the highest of American standards. They are firm believers that with all the work they put into their diamonds, its quality should be apparent to the discerning. Hence they tend to shy away from endorsements which they view as a source of pride. Celebrities that are seen wearing a Le Vian piece are doing it out of love of the product and not because of a deal or a slew of contractual agreements. Not cut out for merely profit for profit sake, they believe that business needs to aspire to more than just checks and balances. They are firm believers in being charitable as evidenced by their giving back as much as10% of their profits to charities dedicated to servicing hospitals and medical research which makes them vanguards of putting the good in good business.
